Welcome to May and your new challenge: Androids and Cyborgs.

Android: a robot or synthetic organism designed to look and act like a human, and with a body having a flesh-like resemblance.

Cyborg: short for "cybernetic organism," a being with both biological and artificial (e.g. electronic, mechanical or robotic) parts.

You're welcome to explore one, the other, or both, all month long. Enjoy!

For April we're stockpiling our resources, rationing our water, and just trying to survive. Join us Post-Apocalypse.

Happy New Year! Thank you for continuing with us in 2012. ♥

For the challenge this month we're dipping into British history: the Victorian & Edwardian Eras. This is 1837-1910; the time periods include lasting cultural touchstones as varied as Sherlock Holmes, Oscar Wilde, Jack the Ripper, Charles Dickens, the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, Gilbert and Sullivan, Sarah Bernhardt, Art Nouveau, and many, many more.

So... Sanzo in a deliciously restrictive Victorian suit? Omi and Nagi under threat of discovery of their forbidden-by-law love? Hakkai and Gojyo chafing at the rigid class system? The choice is yours.

Hat tip to [livejournal.com profile] laurose8 for suggesting this month's theme--thank you!

Ohmygod, October has been a wonderful month full of wonderful entries, thank you very much, everybody! We would like to remind you that you can post things late, so if you've got some half-finished vampires somewhere, we want to see them!

But for those of you who are waiting for a new challenge, this is it! In November, we're going back in time... to the very beginning of humanity, it's time for the cavemen! Stone Age, Iron Age, Bronze Age... anything before the invention of the written language is okay. However, that doesn't mean that you have to stick to History, of course you don't! Here's a very fine example of what I mean:

I'm an LJ-cut )

Also, any postapocalyptic universe where people have been forced to go back to living in caves and hunting, and the technology has been destroyed/doesn't work/whatever is fine, too! The most important part, in my humble opinion, is that they wear loincloths.

That ancient world before science existed as such, was a very misterious universe ruled by natural phenomena and the magic, the myth and the rituals. A world we still don't know well, so we can make up whatever we ignore. And include dinosaurs. And sex-magic. And whatever it is the AU inspires you to.

This is not the brightest recollection of pics I've ever made, but just in case someone finds it useful, here's a bit of visual reference:

I'm another LJ-cut )
