WK Fanart - Schuldig

      Here's one of my possible takes on FeudalJapan!Schuldig. I just wanted to draw a shabby doodle with the graphic tablet, because the sketch I parted from was pretty aweful, but I ended up putting a lot of time into this, which is stupid since the initial drawing is pretty bad. I'll try and make a better Schwarz illustration later on. With traditional colouring, that, I can assure you.

I quite like your coloring (what did you have in mind when you said 'more traditional? Sumi-e style for the fuedal theme, or just more blending of the colors?) I'm impressed how good the shading looks, even with all the pen strokes are distinguishable, the mask look very 3-d. like all the colors and strokes in his hair.

I also like your use of negative space, I think it's neat how he's only in the corner.

Oh, thank you! No, I didn't meant it that way. I was just saying that I wouldn't use the computer. Watercolour is the technic I'm usually more comfortable with. Your words comfort me a lot, though, since i waas afraid that, as well as a bad line I had messed the colouring, too.

I'm glad the space worked for you. I was afraid adding a black frame would ruin the general view, but it was the only way I had of adding the negative space without putting a background color (maybe I should have tried just that? I don't know...). Anyway, thank you for your words, they reassured me a lot.

Yay! I still think this is shabby as Hell. I'll never start colouring anything again until I have a passable line drawing to work with. T_T

But I'm glad you liked the idea! I think he would love to play this role as much as we love to see him in it. For some reason, I could see Crawford as a high ranked monk, the only one able to deal with the naughty fox spirit. Oh, the possibilities...!

Thank you! Yep, I think Schuldig would make a wonderful kitsune, playing with people just like he plays with minds. And his colouring helps, too.

Thanks! I'm still a bit horrified at the pic, but I'm glad the mask works for you (although I still think that I should have docummented myself better... I have the suspicion I would have drawn it better that way).

Yep, I was between ninja!Schuldig and kitsune!Schuldig, but I think he can enjoy more the bringing of mischief in this form.

Oh, I love this! (have only just discovered this comm and am reading it from the beginning) The colour and style is beautifully vibrant - very appropriate for Schuldig. :-)
I actually did write a timetravel fic about Schuldig in C.16th Japan called 'Kitsune' a couple of years ago - I'm so pleased to see I'm not the only one who thinks it's a very good match!

Well, to be honest, I'm a litle bit ashamed of it (I can only see the mistakes I made!), but I'm glad you liked it.

Oh, I don't think you should be but then I think no true artist is ever satisfied with what they produce - no matter how much the audience loves it! But in a way it's good as they keep striving, and keep producing work for the rest of us to appreciate. :-)
